Alternatives to medicines and beauty products that make you ugly - and kill Orungutans

The next time you head for your bathroom cabinet and start popping pills and rubbing in creams have you asked yourself what are the side affects?  To both yourself and the environment...
Most pain relief has long time negative effects on your liver and kidneys, causing more chronic pain in the long term.

If your vain like me it may make you take notice if I tell you your treatments could be making you ugly and SMELLY - causing fluid retention, liver spots and pigmentation, thrush infections, weight gain and premature aging.  Not to mention infertility, hormone imbalance, depression and sometimes impotence.

Why?  It destroys good gut bacteria, interferes with normal hormone function, suppresses immune response and a lot of modern medicines taken regularly over time have side affects that far out weight the original symptom, and often never address the underlying cause.

Did you know that most of your household brand makeup, shampoos and skin care are made up of talcs and petrochemicals (the equivalent of the lead that Geisha's used in their white make up powder that made their faces melt) and palm sugars.  These palm sugars not only promote CANDIDA (yes, thrush on your skin... that is that sweet, sickly smell most commonly permeating from habitual spray tanners), but is also responsible for killing orangutans and wiping out forests and wildlife.

Would you like to try a few alternatives in pain relief, weight loss and skin care?

Oh... plus, SAVE A PACKET and protect and even promote the environment by bypassing expensive marketing, packaging and big business brain washing.....

READ ON.....

5. Hemp Oil

Yes, the good old marijuana leaf - minus the goofy stuff (cannibis sativa).  This oil is the SUPER omega 3 and 6 oil WITH antibacterial and anti-viral properties.

When Captain Cook came looking for Australia, he wasn't looking to drop off convicts, that's a wee myth.  One of his main purposes was to source hemp - the strongest, most fire resistant, bacteria resistant fibre on earth.  It's healing powers are renowned.

I have my own story, when I was a young Police Constable I got sent down a small fox hole on an illegal, and well hidden, marijuana plantation to retrieve mature plants (strapped to my back).  The lantana and scrub did an excellent job of ripping my arms apart.  But the hemp oil was inadvertently rubbing into the wounds.  Well, that evening I had the best netball game of my life, bettered only by the whole pizza I consumed shortly after.  But the following morning I awoke to inspect my ravaged arms to find only a thin smattering of scabs that brushed off and revealed smooth healthy skin underneath.  This was in less than 12 hours!

Use this wonder oil as a better alternative to flax seed oil and fish oil (our prudish, albeit ironic government that was originally founded on the basis of hemp had legislated against the consumption of hemp, but I am putting myself out there to say the sativa has been removed and all the good omegas remain, so I ingest it, rub it, love it).  It has the smell and feel of a forest floor - it must be good for you.

Use it for:
  • Uber dry skin
  • Dermatitis, fungal and other skin afflictions
  • Dry hair and splitting fingernails
  • Joint pain and arthritis
  • As a leave in hair conditioner and styling oil
  • In massage, baths and scrubs
  • In salad dressings (don't cook with it, it kills the omegas)
  • As a perfectly balanced supplement

6. Tea Tree Essential Oil

Used carefully to treat skin afflictions, in a carrier oil for massage, diluted in water for a soothing bath or as a cleaning agent, pure tea tree oil is a recognized for its natural antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties.

Add me to every home and travel first aid kit to treat:
  • tinea
  • nail fungal infections
  • bites
  • pimples
  • cold sores
  • clean scratches and skin irritations
  • clean around toilets, showers and sinks
  • add to baths and to carrier oils to treat and sooth strains and sprains

7.  Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus Oil has a history of wide application, as a pharmaceutical, antiseptic, repellent, flavouring, fragrance and industrial uses.

Use in an oil burner, massage lotion or neat:
  • Helps relieve the symptoms of cold and flu
  • Helps relieve muscular and arthritic pain
  • Removes stubborn stains and grease marks.  Including chewing gum!
  • Removes Sweat Depot smells in laundry wash

8.  Lavender Oil
The health benefits of lavender essential oil include its ability to remove nervous tension, relieve pain, disinfect scalp and skin, enhance blood circulation and treat respiratory problems.

Use in an oil burner, bath, massage lotion or neat:
  • Apply to burns, sunburn and skin conditions;
  • Use neat on pimples;
  • For cramps, head aches, depression,  and anxiety;
  • As a natural sunblock and mosquito repellent (but not flies, I tried it on a 500km fun run and they seemed to love it)
  • Treat thrush and bladder infections
Essential oil tip:
Sprinkle your oil of choice onto a damp face washer and wipe down benches and floors to  freshen, sanitize and deodorize.  Then when you pop the washer in the wash it softens and freshens your clothes and acts as an anti-bacterial/ viral agent...
9.  Exercise

It could help create or save relationships, make you live longer, and make you even more gorgeous.

www.sweatdepot.com.au
  • improve muscle and skin tone
  • increase the health of your lungs, and heart
  • relieve head aches, back ache, muscle soreness and fatigue
  • creates more energy and longevity
  • decreases risks of injury by increasing bone density, core strength and immune response

Oh, and if you don't exercise you will die... well ok, we all will.  But if may be faster, more painful, you'll be uglier and it will be a a lot less fun.

10.  Deodorant

Pack it in your car/ bag/ boat/ lunch box.

No, not just because you're a bit on the pong.   Because it's active ingredient neutralizes bee stings, wasp bites and those rascally green ant bites WITHIN SECONDS.
I got bitten by a jumping ant on a camping trip recently, and dead set, I thought they were going to have to amputate.  Luckily I had deodorant.

And it works better than most "STING OUTIE" products - at half the price.  I got this tip from a chemist.  You can repay me with hugs and kiss.  And tell your children to adore me.

**eeeewwwkk**  Even the picture of this thing is making my skin crawl.

11.  Magnesium and Zinc Supplements

Yes, I do go on and on about it don't I?  But if you suffer from any of the following and don't take it, you've lost the right to complain in front of me....

Lack of magnesium:
  • muscle and back soreness (from exercise or lack of exercise)
  • restless legs
  • anxiety
  • menstrual cramps
  • digestive cramps
  • muscular cramps
  • CONSTIPATION (if you are constipated i.e.: one or less poos a day, expect to be fat and grumpy)
  • headaches and migraine
  • irregular menses and ovary production, and ovarian cysts
  • night terrors and night waking (children and adults)

Lack of Zinc
  • acne
  • low sperm count
  • adrenal fatigue
  • scarring
  • poor muscle recovery
  • lack of libido
  • irregular hormonal and insulin response
Were do you get it? The best source is boiling down shell fish.  Not so keen?  Buy a GOOD quality powder or tablet that has higher doses of the mineral and covers a spectrum of the mineral in different compounds.

Take with calcium and at night (it does not absorb as well during the day so you will pee it away).  DO NOT take it with iron, they counteract one another.
